Building a website is the easy part, creating one that is memorable is the hard part.

When launching a corporate website, it is essential that the design and content of the site fits your company message and represents the brand. Your website is one of the primary ways that people find information about you, as well as purchase products and make important inquiries.

Without a fully functional and easily navigational structure, you will drive away most of the visitors who come in, and that is something no webmaster wants to do, especially a company. There are many suggestions one should follow if they aim to develop a brandable website, and more diligence is required than with a personal site.

The first step with creating any site is finding a domain. Ideally, your domain should simply be the company name, as that can be remembered the best by prospects, and it is substantially representative. If for some reason your company name is taken, you may want to look in to buying it from the current owner.

Alternatively, you can try to find another suitable domain name, which could either be a shorter or longer version of your company name, or a description. The former is preferred and is better for customers, but the latter is more valuable in terms of search engine optimization.

Unless you are a professional web designer, there is no reason for you to do any of the physical work. While it is possible to design a web site with little experience, it would be of vastly inferior quality to that of a professional. If you give a web design company specific details of what you want your website to look like and do, they can usually churn out something that is or better than what you expected.

As always, the more money you are willing to spend, the higher quality of a site you can get, but you still need to take the time to find an experienced company. Two thousand dollars at one firm might get you more than the same amount at another company.

If you do not already have a logo, it is a must that you get one as soon as possible. It is easier to remember images than words, and by having an attractive, memorable logo as an embodiment of your company, you ensure that visitors will keep you in mind. Unfortunately, logos are surprisingly expensive, with some companies charging between five hundred and one thousand dollars for them.

Although they are expensive, a logo is not something that you want to skimp on, as it has a powerful impact on the image of your business. Depending on the type of business you have, the logos do not have to be overly extravagant, and if that is the case, you can save money in this area.

The color scheme of your website should be more or less the same on all pages. You want to present a consistent image to all of your prospects, and color is right up there in importance with logo. Consistency is certainly important and easily doable, but the most significant factor is what colors you choose.

Different colors evoke specific emotions, so consult your web designer on what colors would work best for your business. You can also look on the Internet for detailed descriptions of the effects individual colors have, and make your decision based on that.
